I watched the movie last week, in Abuja, Nigeria. The cinema hall was fully packed and the audience was fully engaged. Yes, I loved the movie, although my heart was really with Killmonger. He plus Pa, hated what had been happening right from Rodney King to Trayvon Martin. I hated the fact that he was killed and even though The King offered to heal him, he chose death. Almost as if the film was saying that society had no time for Killmonger’s issues. But I thought the film was visually stunning and the acting (and the accents) were great.
